* TAKE ACTION! Contact Montana's New Governor Steve Bullock.
Buffalo Field Campaign will be meeting today with members of Governor Bullock's staff to discuss Montana's treatment of America's last wild bison and the anti-bison bills currently before the state legislature. These bills would spell disaster for America's last wild buffalo and elk. BFC has created a web page to track these bills and enable you to take the necessary actions to prevent them from becoming law.
Please contact Governor Steve Bullock and tell him that the buffalo are important to you. Remind him that wild buffalo and elk are our national heritage, and urge him to veto these anti-buffalo bills and treat the buffalo with the honor and respect that they deserve.
Use this take action button to learn more and to help defeat this anti-buffalo legislation!
* A New Way to Follow the Work of BFC: Podcasts
This week we launched the second episode in our new podcast series. BFC Coordinator Peter Bogusko discusses BFC's new legislative page and some of the anti-bison bills that have recently been introduced in the legislature. He also discusses what it's like to be a BFC volunteer in both the West Yellowstone and Gardiner camps.
We will be doing new podcasts throughout the winter. You can listen to individual episodes or subscribe to our feed and stay in the loop on matters affecting the buffalo.

* Submit Your Photos & Art for 2014 Wild Bison Calendar
BFC is in the process of creating our next Wild Bison Calendar! We are currently accepting photos, artwork, quotations, poetry, and interesting facts for 2014. We aim to go to print a few months earlier than usual, so please send us your 2014 Wild Bison Calendar submissions as soon as possible!
Submission Requirements: To meet the image size and quality of our calendar printing, photos must be high-resolution, digital images of wild buffalo of the Yellowstone area in their natural habitat (no roads, signs, people, etc. in the shot, please). Photos must be at least 12.25" wide x 8.25 tall at 300 pixels per inch. File sizes should be approximately 35MB. (This requires a 10 megapixel camera or larger). Please submit RAW files whenever possible. We strongly prefer your images to not be color corrected. Adjusting color in images for four color process printing is different than for other printing processes. Artists and photographers will be given full credit for any and all photos, art, images or original text. Deadline for submissions is Saturday, February 9, 2013.
Please email your photo submissions for BFC's Wild Bison 2014 Calendar or send a disc of photos and/or art to BFC Wild Bison Calendar, P.O. Box 957, West Yellowstone, MT 59758. We can't wait to see your pictures and art!
We have just a few 2013 Wild Bison calendars still in stock. ORDER YOURS!
* BFC Wish List: Field Volunteers and Video Tripods
BFC is in need of field volunteers for the remainder of this winter buffalo-protection season and for our summer education and outreach campaign. If you are interested, passionate, and hard-working, please contact our volunteer coordinator. For more information about volunteering with BFC click HERE.
Can't volunteer but want to help anyway? Donate today and we will use your contribution where it is most needed. We are also in need of quality, fluid-head video and photo tripods that we can use in the field to document the bison and their mismanagement. Contact BFC's gear coordinator with any questions about these needs and check our complete Wish List for other needed items.

* Buffalo Inspired Last Words
"[BFC] is one of the best groups out there. I have spent time with them in the field. They make it possible for many people to directly support the yellowstone buffalo. They have housing and activities for volunteers. They even feed everyone. Hands down, best green non-profit I know."
--Brennan M., former BFC volunteer quoted from Greatnonprofits
If anyone has submissions for Last Words just send them to us. Thank you for all the poems, songs, quotes and stories you have been sending! Keep them coming!
