Buffalo continue to fall to hunters in both the Gardiner and Hebgen basins with nearly 100 killed since November. The good news is that the state hunting season ends on Friday. Yesterday we got a glimpse of things to come as we documented four buffalo being hazed near Yellowstone's northern boundary by wranglers from the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks and the National Park Service. In coming weeks we'll be seeing a lot more of this as the agencies revert from letting hunters do their dirty work of keeping Montana free of buffalo to doing it themselves.

Buffalo Field Campaign released two new PSAs this week taking Yellowstone Park and Montana to task for their driving roles in the slaughter of America's last wild bison. We are asking all our supporters to take a minute to watch these two 30 second videos and contact the decision-makers listed after each. Please share these videos with family members, friends, and acquaintances and if you are on Facebook, please follow BFC's Facebook page and like and share the videos there. Thank you!

Montana is a Bad Neighbor to
Yellowstone National Park

Please contact Montana Governor Steve Bullock and tell him why the buffalo are important to you. Remind him that wild buffalo and elk are our national heritage, and urge him to veto the anti-buffalo bills currently making their way through the Montana legislature. Remind him he has the power to give the buffalo the protection they deserve:

* 2013 Wild Bison Calendars Discounted to $2.99

January is gone and we're halfway through February but BFC's 2013 Wild Bison Calendars will be current for another ten and a half months. That leaves you with 320 days to celebrate and enjoy Yellowstone buffalo in all their wild beauty. We still have them in stock here in a box in our office but would so much rather have them displayed on your wall for you to enjoy. To further entice you we've just dropped the price by ten dollars from $12.99 to $2.99, plus shipping. ORDER YOURS TODAY and get one while they last!

* BFC Wish List: Field Volunteers and Video Tripods

BFC needs you to come and volunteer. Between now and June we need field volunteers for our frontlines patrols. In the summer we'll need education and outreach volunteers to represent BFC and the buffalo to Yellowstone visitors. If you are interested, passionate, and hard-working, please contact our volunteer coordinator. For more information about volunteering with BFC click HERE.

Can't volunteer but want to help anyway? Donate today and we will use your contribution where it is most needed. We are also in need of quality, fluid-head video and photo tripods that we can use in the field to document the bison and their mismanagement. Contact BFC's gear coordinator with any questions about these needs and check our Wish List for other needed items.

* By the Numbers

The last wild buffalo populations are currently estimated at fewer than 4,300 individual animals, living in and around Yellowstone National Park. Wild bison are currently ecologically extinct throughout their native range in North America.
