As the Autumnal Equinox approaches, Montana's skies cast eerie light, choked with smoke from the fires of the hot, dry summer. It is hard to believe that winter is so close, bringing blankets of snow that will at once relieve the parched and crackling land yet obscure the last offerings of summer grasses that wild buffalo have been taking in to prepare for winter's meager menu. It has been said that during the short summer months in the Northern Rockies, wild buffalo enjoy the cereal itself, and then spend the remaining eight cold months surviving off of the box.
As wild buffalo prepare for winter and the challenges Mother Nature sets before them, so, too, does BFC prepare for the added, unnatural challenges that Montana and the federal government are threatening to inflict upon our shaggy friends. Let us strengthen our resolve now to stand together in solidarity once again --and for as long as it takes-- in defense of America's last wild buffalo.

*Last Words--Buffalo Inspiration: "Bobby" Kennedy
"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
~ Robert "Bobby" F. Kennedy, 1925-1968
