We have had an unseasonably warm and wet few weeks. Heavy clouds have brought lots of rain and very little snow. The waters of Hebgen Lake are lapping against the shore as if turning to ice was the furthest thing from their mind. The mild weather, however, is an immediate boon for the buffalo and other wildlife. Grasses are still exposed and easy to munch on.

Buffalo Field Campaign patrols are venturing into the field every day, trekking around buffalo migration corridors, but have found no sign of buffalo. The gentle giants seem to be content within Yellowstone's boundaries for now, with access to plenty of forage and under no threat from hunters.

Wild is the Way ~ Roam Free!

* Give the Gift of Wild Bison

For a minimum donation of $20, send a gift of wild bison to the recipient(s) of your choice! Your family member, friend, or loved-one will receive a "Keep Yellowstone Buffalo Wild and Free" notecard with your personal greeting and signed by members of BFC's current field crew, including co-founder Mike Mease.

They'll also receive a 4"x6" print of Sandy Sisti's stunning snow-encrusted buffalo.

We will hand write your personalized greeting in each card along with the words:

"_______________ has made a generous contribution to Buffalo Field Campaign as a gift in your honor. This contribution will directly fund BFC's field patrols and advocacy work on behalf of America's last wild bison."

When you send a card to the special people in your life you are also funding the work of BFC as we protect and defend America's last wild bison.

Please be sure to fill out the order form completely, including your personal message and the address of the card recipient, in the box below the zip code field.

Orders must be received by Friday, December 14 to ensure delivery before the 25th.

Thank You Pearl Jam!!!

*BFC Wish List: Base Layers, All Sizes Needed!

Our volunteers spend a lot of time in the field, and it can get quite cold out there. We have been enjoying some warm weather lately, but it won't be long before the desperately cold winter is upon us. To keep our volunteers warm and dry in the field, we need to keep a supply of quality outdoor gear available. At this time we have a decent selection of base layer tops, but not very many bottoms. If any of our supporters are able to send us base layer bottoms (non-cotton, all sizes), we would certainly put them to use. I would like to thank all of our supporters who have helped make this campaign possible throughout the years. Stay informed and spread the word, our last wild buffalo deserve to be treated with respect.

*By the Numbers

The last wild population is currently estimated at fewer than 4,300 individual buffalo. Wild bison are currently ecologically extinct throughout their native range in North America.
