Letter to the Editor: DOL hazing undermines tourism business
Bozeman Daily Chronicle
5/5/07
An open letter to the business community:

The State of Montana spends an awful lot of money through Travel Montana to attract potential tourists to our community. Another agency of the State is undermining all that effort. On Wednesday, May 2nd in the late afternoon and in the spirit of DOL's new "safe and humane" hazing program, buffalo were hazed by HELICOPTER, (truly an UNFAIR CHASE of the highest order) right through the Baker's Hole campground scaring lots of campers there.

Imagine the message they will bring back to their home communities, friends and families about whether future visitors should stay in West Yellowstone when coming to visit Yellowstone. I'll bet Cody and Jackson Hole will look like better options after witnessing the day-long insanity of "safe and humane" hazing. Perhaps the Chamber, the Town Council and all business people who care about their own survival should contact the Governor about this <governor@mt.gov>
