USDA APHIS Torture Testing
Bull Bison for Brucellosis


Another inhumane action of the Interagency Bison Management Plan. This time, the Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service, APHIS, is darting bull bison with tranquilizers. Then inserting a vibrating probe into their anus to retrieve sperm samples in order to find if bull bison can spread brucellosis to cattle, even though there has never been a case of this ever happening.

Why Yellowstone Bison do not
belong on Ted Turners Ranch

On 2/2/10 Montana's wildlife agency, Fish, Wildlife & Parks (MFWP) announced their decision to send all 88 quarantined Yellowstone bison to the private lands of billionaire Ted Turner. The Yellowstone bison were part of a state-federal Quarantine Feasibility Study, which had the stated goal of placing brucellosis-free bison on public or tribal lands.

On January 15th, Buffalo Field Campaign started a barbed-wire fence removal effort in cooperation with Gallatin National Forest.

The removal of a two-mile stretch of barbed-wire fence on Gallatin National Forest lands near Duck Creek, a critical wildlife migration corridor especially loved by bull buffalo.
