The Custer-Gallatin National Forest, which surround’s Yellowstone’s northern and western boundaries, is hosting a series of meeting throughout southwest Montana, as well as accepting public comments on their Forest Plan Revision, within which Species of Conservation Concern are being considered. As many of you know, we have been putting forth tremendous effort to have the wild buffalo of Yellowstone Country listed as a Species of Conservation Concern.

This important public process is for everyone around the country. You don’t have to live in southwestern Montana to participate. If you are not able to attend any of the meetings in person, there are webinars you can join from anywhere in the country. And please STAY TUNED, by January 22, BFC will have our official comment report ready for you! We are setting up a method that will allow both individuals and group entities to submit comments in an easy, straight-forward fashion. We are finalizing the fine details of our thorough report, and plan to have a special alert out to you by Monday, January 22.
