Our last wild bison bed down just outside Yellowstone's north gate, The Arch. As soon as Buffalo leave the park, they are trapped and sent to slaughter or quarantine by Yellowstone NPS.

As the trap doors close for the last time this season, my heart and body weep for the families of Buffalo that never got to truly be Buffalo.

These are not just numbers - they are Communities of Wisdom!

Buffalo teach us how to live on this earth the right way.

I pray for the day that we stop treating these sacred beings like rodents and learn from them how to be better stewards of the land we call Mother Earth.
