That Council consists of BFC Board President, Justine Sanchez, Board Vice President, Dallas Gudgell, Yankton Dakota, enrolled Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, and Board Treasurer, Heidrun Kubiessa.

In addition, Justine Sanchez, 25 year BFC veteran both in the field and in leadership, is taking on the role of Executive Assistant & Media Coordination. Justine is excited to continue her decades long work with BFC and in a way that reflects her depth of knowledge and abilities to facilitate and coordinate organization-wide programming and development.

"I look forward to continuing our 25+ year work to make BFC headquarters a place to gather; where tribal youth groups, Wellbriety organizations and native elders can safely come to connect with wild Buffalo, participate in ceremonies (like the Naming Ceremony for the White Buffalo Calf born this Summer to the wild herds) and gain knowledge through science-based data and policy education. Where mainstream wildlife conservation advocates can come to honor the historic Buffalo lifeways of the original Indigenous people of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Where everyday people can come into a reciprocal relationship with wild Buffalo and for their lasting protection!" - Justine Sanchez
