Buffalo Field Campaign is in need of volunteers for the spring calving season and for our summer outreach program. BFC provides lodging and meals for people who come and volunteer for the buffalo. We especially need help during the buffalo’s spring calving season, from running our Safe Passage road sign program to documenting wildlife sightings and harm to the buffalo’s habitat.  Help the wild buffalo by joining our volunteers and staff at BFC's base camp overlooking Hebgen Lake with a view of the Continental Divide.  Find out more information about volunteering today!

Sadly, even with our presence in the field assisting buffalo crossing the highways from sunrise to sunset, a mother and her yearling calf were killed crossing Highway 191 during the night. For years, BFC has been urging Montana to earmark funding to implement safe wildlife crossings on highways 191 and 287 in Hebgen Basin. Please let Montana know people everywhere care about doing more by creating safe passages for all wildlife.  You can lend your voice to implementing wildlife safe passages by taking action today.

BFC’s Safe Passage road sign program alerting travelers of Buffalo On Road is in full swing, running late into the night until the Buffalo bed down.
If you don’t have time to volunteer this spring but are looking for opportunities to spend time in Yellowstone this summer, we’ve got you covered. You can make a difference! We need your help!

BFC is accepting applications to help with our annual outreach and education campaign in Yellowstone National Park. Help us educate and get the word out about the need for long-term protection for Yellowstone buffalo and their habitat as they face increasing political pressure from the State of Montana to limit their population and confine their migrations on public lands.
