This week brought a big change in weather patterns, not only have we seen a huge temperature swing from early last week that had seen temperatures well under freezing then ranging to 45 degrees. As the warm weather has begun to affect the snow on the exposed ridgelines and as the South faces are soaked in high elevation sun leading to a retreating snowpack.
Buffalo on the northern border remain under threat if they walk out of Yellowstone National Park and into Montana, our weekly patrols witnessed little additional action from the previous week and no major captures. We will continue to monitor the conditions and any potential Bison that would feel their need to walk through traditional migrating corridors where State interagency management puts them in peril. We have our eyes on the unfolding scene and will remain on watch with active field patrols.
