Wildn’Free, Red Shoes Studios, and Buffalo Field Campaign celebrated our second art gala in Boulder, Colorado on October 22, 2016. The gorgeous Rembrandt Yard hosted our event and Blackbelly Market made sure our taste buds were tingled!
With work from over 10 artists from across the country, our live and silent auctions were a huge success and raised thousands of dollars for Buffalo Field Campaign. New sponsorship from the Colorado Cannabis Collective, participation from the finest restaurants in Boulder, hand crafted bourbon, beer, and wine from Buffalo Trace, Sanitas, and Scarpetta, a coming together of West Yellowstone businesses for an outstanding fly fishing package and longtime BFC supporter Patagonia for supplying us with trucker caps and Better Sweaters, we raised our glasses and kicked up our heels in honor of America’s last wild bison and the important work of BFC.
Not only did guests enjoy buffalo inspired art, fine food, and cheer but they were treated to many special guests. An artist created work in real time, another offered complimentary portraits, a candle maker offered her wares, and a duet from the Denver Symphony Orchestra as well as a jazz trio delighted us with their music.
BFC co-founder and campaign coordinator, Mike Mease, gave an inspirational talk. He opened by having all in attendance show their commitment to Wildn’Free buffalo by roaring, bringing our gathering together in laughter and joy. Thia Martin, WnF founder, premiered her powerful new short film. This poignant and informative video left not a dry eye in the house.
Overall, it was an evening of celebration. Celebration of wild, free-born buffalo and the twenty years of work Buffalo Field Campaign has offered in honor, respect, and protection to our National Mammal.
BFC would like to offer a special thank you to Thia Martin. Without her vision, passion, and patronage, we would never be able to make our largest fundraising event of the year happen. Thank you, Thia, for your love and devotion to the buffalo and our buffalo family.
We hope to see you all in Boulder for our celebration next fall...or in West Yellowstone for our Memorial Day Weekend 20th anniversary party in the field, with the buffalo.
For the buffalo,
Justine Sanchez
