West Yellowstone, Montana - The Montana-based wild bison advocacy organization, Buffalo Field Campaign, is hosting a Week of Action February 9 - 15, 2015. Various events to raise positive awareness about the Yellowstone buffalo herds will take place in southwest Montana.

• Monday, February 9 includes an activist check-in with Buffalo Field Campaign, overviews on the issues impacting America's last wild buffalo, and field orientations.
  
  
• Tuesday, February 10, BFC will support a Native American rally in Helena (BFC Press Release - 02/04/15), Montana from 1:00 - 3:00 to help empower and amplify native voices on behalf of wild buffalo and wolves.
  
  
• Wednesday, February 11, BFC will inspire a National Call-In Day to Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk and National Park Service Director Jon Jarvis to urge them to love, respect and protect the wild buffalo the American people have entrusted them with. An field orientation in the Hebgen Basin will also take place.
  
  
• Thursday, February 12, BFC will travel to Gardiner, Montana for a day in the field, and then meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Forest Service Ranger District Office and embark on a march through town which will segue into a candlelight vigil at Yellowstone National Park's Roosevelt Arch from 6:30 - 7:30.
  
  
• Friday, February 13, BFC will be in Bozeman, Montana for a rally through downtown Bozeman as well as hosting information tables at the Co-op and Library on Main Street from 11am until 6pm.
  
  
• Saturday, February 14, A strong message of love for the buffalo will be conveyed in Big Sky, Montana.
  
  
• Sunday, February 15, our Week of Action will conclude with time in the field with wild buffalo and the landscape on which they attempt to roam.

Buffalo Field Campaign is hosting this Week of Action to help raise awareness and support for America's last wild buffalo, the Yellowstone herds, which are currently under attack by Montana livestock interests and signatories to the Interagency Bison Management Plan. They aim to reduce the most important bison population in the world to a mere 3,000 animals, due to the intolerance of Montana's livestock industry, intolerance that is codified in the statute: MCA 81-2-120, a law crafted by the livestock industry.

Yellowstone buffalo are America's last wild, migratory herds and the most important bison population that exists. They are the last to identify as a wildlife species and ecologically extinct throughout their native range. They've been added to the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List for being "threatened with near extinction," and even Montana designates the species "in greatest conservation need" with conditions "making [bison] vulnerable to global extinction."

West Yellowstone and Gardiner, Montana-based Buffalo Field Campaign is a non-profit public interest organization founded in 1997 to protect the natural habitat of wild migratory buffalo and native wildlife, stop the slaughter of America's last wild buffalo and advocate for their lasting protection, and work with people of all nations to honor the sacredness of wild bison.
